I
have been a Bootcamp survivor since May 2009. It all started when I
woke up one morning and was not happy with the way I looked. I
finally decided that I needed to do something. I never really got into
the whole gym thing, so I started to surf the internet. After speaking to
a bunch of people, I finally decided that Survivor Bootcamp was worth a
try. I got hooked! My trainer Alan is great! He's really
motivating and pushes me to the limit, which is exactly what I needed - I needed
my butt kicked! I'm
loving bootcamp and really enjoying the different workouts which force me to
escape my hectic days to go and relieve some serious stress. Survivor
Bootcamp is not only about trying to lose weight. It is really about trying to
become a healthier person overall. I find that if I don't go to Bootcamp,
I begin to feel sluggish and sleepy. Going to the classes gives me this
jolt of energy that is desirable. I look great and feel even better - my
self-confidence has never been this great. If you really need that
kick in the butt to better your life. Survivor Bootcamp is the way to go. Amy - Brampton, Ontario. |

I started back in May 2009, with a committment to myself to improve my health. Ultimately bootcamp has, enhanced my life by improving my fitness level, increasing my energy, and decreasing stress. I had issues with high blood pressure and Bootcamp has allowed me to decrease my medication. It has helped for cross-training as a half-marathon runner and is a great option to the expenses of personal trainers. The trainers keep me committed to attendance, and it fits in with my busy life as a mother and a nurse. Thank you Survivor Bootcamp........ and to my trainers Jennifer and Tricia, along with Gillian, who keep me motivated on days where I could have stayed in bed! |

My husband Matt and I started boot camp back in June 2008, thinking it
would be a one month kick start towards a healthier life. We both hid
our weight well, but we weren't fit by any stretch. It was painful to
start, but we got stronger and stronger, and after the first month
couldn't imagine "going it on our own" without Daniela leading the way.
We didn't go into this for a "quick weight loss"
goal, rather we wanted to become healthy in a way we could manage for
the rest of our lives. We made sure that we ate much better (whole
grains, complex carbs, protien, multi-coloured veg) and watched our
portions, but didn't really deny ourselves little indulgences so that
we could maintain the losses; better the pounds come off slowly and
stay off, then to be overly restrictive just to see the scale go down
quickly and pop back up again. Well, the losses have mounted over the
five months. Currently I have lost 10.5 inches and 20lbs and Matt has
lost 35lbs-40lbs and 13 inches! But most importantly we are fit!
Together! I can hold a 3 minute plank and Matt and sprint up our hill
on cardio day (twice!). We are never bored and I think it's safe to
say we are addicted, and it's made both of us so proud of each other.
Thank you Daniela and Survivor Bootcamp! - Julia, Vancouver, BC. |

In August 2001 I tore my ACL and
found it tough to compete in sports or get a real workout at the gym due
to the instability of my knee. In January 2007 I had my ACL repaired and
it was tough to condition myself or get motivated at the gym. I needed
something new that would not only motivate me but puch me back to my
healthy self. Before Survivor Bootcamp I weighed 216 lbs., my heaviest weight
ever. I was also facing cholesterol problems and my doctor was on the
edge of putting me on medication to lower my cholesterol levels. I
didn't want to be on medication so he gave me the chance to get back into
shape and become healthy again. My cousin Christine was also looking for something new and refreshing to get fit. She and my
wife had talked about Survivor Bootcamp and told me about it. I was all for it
as I needed something new to kick-start me back into healthy living. The three
of us joined up in April 2008 and my wife and I loved it so much we
attended Survivor Bootcamp till the end of the summer, as for me I have continued
to attend each month since. These classes have changed my life. It's put me
back into HEALTH MODE and has not only helped me strengthen my knee after
ACL surgery but also helped me lower my Cholesterol level to the point
that I don't have to take drugs. It's made a huge difference in my life. I
currently weigh 194lbs and look forward to shedding more weight. My wife Amanda plans to return with me this
summer to Survivor Bootcamp after she gives birth to our first child in May
2009. Roberto

I first joined Survivor Bootcamp in July 2008. I was at my heaviest ever weight and in the worse shape of my life. I had always been active in sports like figure skating and hockey, but in the last year or so I had not made time for exercise or even thought about it, and ate terribly. My blood pressure, which had always been amazing, was up too and my doctor told me I needed to lose the 10 pounds I gained in the last year. I woke up one day and decided it was time to get back into shape and feel good about my body and self again. So, I joined Survivor Bootcamp. I attended 3 back-to-back sessions. Then I took January and February of 2009 off. I kept going to the gym on my own and did lots of downhill skiing though. I then joined bootcamp, at a different location, again in March 2009 and have been going steady since! I dropped 25 pounds and lost about 10 inches overall. I feel amazing and have been blown away by the great comments I’ve got from friends, family and co-workers. Some people tell me I look like a different person, which is hard for me to believe. I even fit into my prom dress from high school that I wore 11 years ago! Bootcamp got me into running, which I always hated before. Now I love it. I ran my first ever race in July a 10km run - and finished in 63 minutes. Not bad considering less than a year before I hated running and couldn’t even run one km. Not only have I lost weight and inches, but I have gained back confidence in myself that I had lost. Christine Clowser, Calgary AB |
