With the help of Survivor Bootcamp, I have lost 15lbs in 5.5 weeks. I
was 189lbs when I started, and now I am 174. My goal weight is 160lbs. I
aim to do that within two months. And honestly, I wouldn't have been
able to do that if I did not join Survivor bootcamp with Daniela at the East Vancouver location.
It
doesn't matter whether you come on an upper body night, or a lower body
night, or a circuit night, every night you come gives you an awesome
workout that is bound to make you sweat, and that's because in addition
to working on that day's muscle groups, the exercises also encompass
aspects of cardio, balancing, and strengthening into it.
When I first
joined, I was sore for more than a week, but the more sessions I went to
the easier it got. By the way, I said easier, not easy. You don't pay
good money to come to an easy bootcamp, you come to sweat. And you know
why it becomes easier? Because you become stronger. And do you know what
happens when you become stronger? You become healthier. And when you're
healthier, you sleep better and deeper. And when you sleep better and
deeper, you become more restful and alert when you are awake. So what do
you have to lose by joining bootcamp? Inches. - Edmond from East
Van. |

I started bootcamp in January 2010. At first it was a difficult challenge. Playing sports was always part of my life;
however after injuries physical activities such as running were the last thing
on my mind. Bootcamp gave me the opportunity
to successfully progress my fitness goals. My trainer Coreen who is awesome by the way, taught me how to balance
fitness with life to the point where if I miss a class I am antsy to get back
into it. The results speak for
themselves (50 lbs) and I plan to continue for the remainder of the year. Regardless of your fitness levels or goals I recommend
joining, and having a trainer like Coreen is just an added benefit. Her subtle motivational style really pushes
you to the max. Thanks Coreen.

Initially I signed up for boot camp to support my daughter - she'd gained the "freshman 10" in her first year of university and was looking for some motivation. When she mentioned joining a boot camp I confess I did an internal eye-roll even while agreeing to go with her. I figured I was a little past needing a boot camp scenario to boost my own fitness; with 10 marathons, several years of triathlon (including Ironman Canada), and 5 years of expedition racing (events from 36 hours to 10 days in duration) under my belt I didn't think there was much else I could be taught on how to be physically fit.
However, "mom-duties" prevailed and we arrived at our first boot camp in April - her expecting a modest weight-loss and increased fitness ability, me expecting an hour out of my day that I'd never get back. The hour went by quickly - Michelle's workout was expertly crafted and really, REALLY fun! She challenged every level of fitness that was there - mine included. My daughter and I woke up the next day to the pleasant ache of a good workout and we were both looking forward to the next session. We enjoyed our first 6 weeks so much that we signed up for another 6 and the gains for both of us were remarkable. My daughter lost 12 pounds and 12 inches, and I gained 4 pounds and 4 inches of some pretty solid muscle. I finished my 3rd boot camp session this very morning and I leave in 2 days for TransRockies (a 7 day bike race through the Rocky Mountains), where the strength gains from Michelle's killer workouts will be put to good use.
I always thought boot camps were just for helping people get off the couch and into a healthier lifestyle, but Survivor has proven they can go way beyond that and challenge accomplished athletes as well. Thanks Michelle, for helping me prepare for TransRockies - Bring it. Marlene Hogarth - Calgary AB |

Survivor Bootcamp helped me to
reconnect with my inner athlete. For many years I had forgotten that person,
ignored her really. Those days are over for me. This unique experience brought
me back to life and taught me that I can do anything I put my mind to do. The
physical changes have been amazing!
Since joining my first bootcamp last year
I have lost close to 20 inches overall! In addition, I have discovered
muscles I didn't know existed or were possible. I used to try to buy dresses
that went to my ankles and also covered my arms but no more! While I'm not a
'mini' skirt kinda girl (mostly because I'm over 40) I am no longer struggling
to cover up! Above the physical changes, there has been a change in my overall lifestyle. I
no longer diet instead I eat almost anything in moderation. I NEVER weigh myself -
how my clothes fit me tell me the story and keep me on track. AND, I can now
call myself a "runner". I used to think I could never run and now it is a
BIG part of my life.
I will be running my first half Marathon this October. While
I won't be winning the race, I can tell you without question that I will be
finishing and you won't be able to wipe the smile off my face for days. I won't lie, I was terrified to join Survivor Bootcamp initially but, within
the first few minutes of meeting the other 'campers' and realizing I wasn't
alone - I was hooked! The Trainers are incredible people. Alan will keep you
coming back. He NEVER doubts your ability even when you do. Ashley will lift
you up through her amazing approach with each individual camper. Both are
simply outstanding at what they do. Trust me, you will lose that fear during
your first class with them and begin to believe that anything is possible. You will love this experience. It will change your life if you let it. Angela - Caledon, Ontario |

I
have been a Bootcamp survivor since May 2009. It all started when I
woke up one morning and was not happy with the way I looked. I
finally decided that I needed to do something. I never really got into
the whole gym thing, so I started to surf the internet. After speaking to
a bunch of people, I finally decided that Survivor Bootcamp was worth a
try. I got hooked! My trainer Alan is great! He's really
motivating and pushes me to the limit, which is exactly what I needed - I needed
my butt kicked! I'm
loving bootcamp and really enjoying the different workouts which force me to
escape my hectic days to go and relieve some serious stress. Survivor
Bootcamp is not only about trying to lose weight. It is really about trying to
become a healthier person overall. I find that if I don't go to Bootcamp,
I begin to feel sluggish and sleepy. Going to the classes gives me this
jolt of energy that is desirable. I look great and feel even better - my
self-confidence has never been this great. If you really need that
kick in the butt to better your life. Survivor Bootcamp is the way to go. Amy - Brampton, Ontario. |
