In August 2001 I tore my ACL and
found it tough to compete in sports or get a real workout at the gym due
to the instability of my knee. In January 2007 I had my ACL repaired and
it was tough to condition myself or get motivated at the gym. I needed
something new that would not only motivate me but puch me back to my
healthy self. Before Survivor Bootcamp I weighed 216 lbs., my heaviest weight
ever. I was also facing cholesterol problems and my doctor was on the
edge of putting me on medication to lower my cholesterol levels. I
didn't want to be on medication so he gave me the chance to get back into
shape and become healthy again. My cousin Christine was also looking for something new and refreshing to get fit. She and my
wife had talked about Survivor Bootcamp and told me about it. I was all for it
as I needed something new to kick-start me back into healthy living. The three
of us joined up in April 2008 and my wife and I loved it so much we
attended Survivor Bootcamp till the end of the summer, as for me I have continued
to attend each month since. These classes have changed my life. It's put me
back into HEALTH MODE and has not only helped me strengthen my knee after
ACL surgery but also helped me lower my Cholesterol level to the point
that I don't have to take drugs. It's made a huge difference in my life. I
currently weigh 194lbs and look forward to shedding more weight. My wife Amanda plans to return with me this
summer to Survivor Bootcamp after she gives birth to our first child in May
2009. Roberto

I first joined Survivor Bootcamp in July 2008. I was at my heaviest ever weight and in the worse shape of my life. I had always been active in sports like figure skating and hockey, but in the last year or so I had not made time for exercise or even thought about it, and ate terribly. My blood pressure, which had always been amazing, was up too and my doctor told me I needed to lose the 10 pounds I gained in the last year. I woke up one day and decided it was time to get back into shape and feel good about my body and self again. So, I joined Survivor Bootcamp. I attended 3 back-to-back sessions. Then I took January and February of 2009 off. I kept going to the gym on my own and did lots of downhill skiing though. I then joined bootcamp, at a different location, again in March 2009 and have been going steady since! I dropped 25 pounds and lost about 10 inches overall. I feel amazing and have been blown away by the great comments I’ve got from friends, family and co-workers. Some people tell me I look like a different person, which is hard for me to believe. I even fit into my prom dress from high school that I wore 11 years ago! Bootcamp got me into running, which I always hated before. Now I love it. I ran my first ever race in July a 10km run - and finished in 63 minutes. Not bad considering less than a year before I hated running and couldn’t even run one km. Not only have I lost weight and inches, but I have gained back confidence in myself that I had lost. Christine Clowser, Calgary AB |

Christmas Break......
3 weeks was too long to go without Bootcamp, especially during the holidays with all that good food tempting us. I decided to email some of our regular bootcampers to let them know my husband and I would be at the same place, same time as our regular bootcamp days to continue the training on our own. Jenny, Marty, Kimi, Natasha and Paula came out almost every Tuesday and Thursday over the 3 weeks. I created a new workout for each day we were out there, utilizing the workouts Pam Dolan had taught us. Having the group show interest, excitement and willing to work hard was an inspiration to keep meeting. Having the support of others and holding ourselves accountable to the hard work we'd already put in during 2009 and to help curb any over indulgent eating habits during the holidays. This would also prepare us for workouts with Pam in 2010! Elle - Langley, B.C. |

I love Boot Camp...there is no other way for me to say this. I am a 46 year old woman who has struggled with weight since my teens, and have been up and down and back up again over the years. I have been a Weight Watchers member for a very long time, but had seriously plataued for the year or so. I am also a runner, completing 5, 10K and Half marathons, and challenging myself with a full marathon in early May of 2009. That is the beginning picture I chose...after all, I was running and training since January, so I should have a runner's body, right? The opportunity for the Boot Camp came up shortly after the marathon with the first class on May 19th through a corporate group here in Calgary with trainer Josh. I figured this would be easy as I run, I've done weights in my past. By the end of the first hour, I thought I was going to die! But as each class went by I got stronger, leaner and more confident in what I could do. By the end of the first 6 weeks I was hooked! Signed up for a 3rd class a week for the next session as twice a week just wasn't enough for me now! After all, I was literally watching my body reshape itself and suddenly I was losing weight again. I love the fact that Josh knows how to push us enough that we want to go harder, yet also pulls us back before we hurt ourselves. I continued with sessions right through the summer and early fall, and by the time I ran Melissa's 22K at the end of September I was over 20 pounds lighter than the marathon in May, and had eliminated 13" all over my body! Unfortunately I did struggle with an injury after the marathon so I couldn't work out or run for 6 weeks. I have since returned to Boot Camp twice a week and am easing myself back into things. Good news is that for those 6 weeks off, I only gained back a couple of pounds...and I still rocked the sexy dress I bought for my Christmas party. If you are thinking about Boot Camp, just do it! You will be so proud of what you realize you can do in an hour! Carol Whyte - Calgary AB |

I am thrilled with the results of extreme bootcamp. I did two back to back sessions this past summer. My trainer Nicole was outstanding, dedicated, kind, knowledgable and kicked my butt good! I had two major goals for joining, the first was to loose weight for my August 15th wedding and the second was to improve my endurance and health as I have severe asthma condition. Well, l lost 25 pounds which was awesome, but the inch loss was the most noticable. My wedding dress had to be altered 3 times smaller and in fact the last week of bootcamp i had to stop going as my dressmaker said she wouldn't take it in anymore! This was hilarious. I brought two friends with me and they too had tremendous results. So much so, that the 3 of us just joined back up again now for 5 days a week starting tonight! I highly recommend this program to any one wishing to improve there overall health and loose a lot of weight. I am very empowered and my self esteem is through the roof! Thanks you! |
